  • Knowledge is Power? hello Power, my name is Sean.

    So yeah... visited Mopac and got some goodies. Picked up a Automter Pyrometer & A/F gauge. Going to have the holes installed into my nicely coated Downpipe sometime this week.

    Gauges on the horizon... Fuel Pressure ($300) and Oil Pressure. That should just about take care of everything I need to really get a good picture of whats going on under the hood. Then I can start raising the numbers again, 300hp sounds so sweet.

    I bought a exhaust manifold gasket and am going to see a friend about him making some highflow tubular manifolds for us guys who want some room to play. Anyone here interested?

        Mang, get the clean 3 gauge panel - those gauges are not ones you need under eye the whole time, no?

        Also, I thought an EGT gauge was highly recommended - sometimes even more important than AF. Any reason you're skipping it?

                EGT and Pyrometer are the same thing basically. They just use a slightly different probe.

                EGT = Exhaust Gas Thermometer

                Pyrometer = Exhaust Gas Thermometer.

                The A/F with the Pyro provides a very complete picture as to whats going on... and when combined with the boost gauge its virtually perfect.

                I've ordered a WideBand Sensor kit which I'll be hooking up soon enough. Anyone else interested in a Wideband AFR setup?

                      I wouldn't mind A/F but I also don't want the triple gauge, was thinking I might be able to rig another VAG-Elements a-pillar pod above my current one... not sure how it would look though. And although I am VERY confident that the one pod does NOT affect my airbag, 2 might.

                          I bought a wideband o2 sensor tonight. I guess I'll return the A/F gauge as only now I found out they don't really work. should be fun... should be fun...
