This EXACT same thing happened to me a while back,
Guy was going to "settle out of insurance"... yeah right,
I filed a police report that day and got a quote from Cosmos,
The other guy never filed a report nor responded to requests to do so,
He kept "stalling" on us settling outside of insurance,
I then informed my insurance of said person,
My insurance went after his insurance for the full cost,
I got 100% of my car fixed and taken care of at Cosmos,
I got a rental car for the full time my car was being fixed,
My insurance got 100% of the costs reimbursed by his insurance,
My premiums have never went up nor do I have any "fault" accidents on my record.

Again, seriously... relax... go through insurance... I don't see what the big deal is?

Don't go to Calgary Coachworks.
Meloche dumped them a few years ago for bad service and rates. Maybe they got back on the list, but ask Meloche, not Calgary Coachworks.
I've had work done there and it was adequate, but not a good job, and it took forever.

All the body shops were hurting a few years ago.

My insurance deals with A1 autobody by Chinook - holy crap that's a big place.

Tell me again... why aren't you going to Cosmos? Isn't his insurance picking up the FULL tab for this?

I'm confused as to why you wouldn't want Cosmos handling this if they are. So you have to wait a bit... big deal... at least its fixed right.
