The easiest thing is to make your own with an old credit card or bank card.

Does the AVIC come with Pioneer removal keys?? Basically 2 strips of metal that look like |_________________________

If so, you can use them as they work perfectly.

Or stop by the dealer, they will do it in the drive through.

no the avic doesn't come with any flat removal key. it does come with some round pieces but they are useless

i have gotten some plastic "home made" keys to get inside but still am not able to pull the deck out

I ended up removing the deck with the "homemade" pins but it wasn't as smooth as it should have been. After wrestling with it for about an hour it decided to come out.

Kona bear, thanks for the offer I really appreciate it. I'll keep it in mind the next time I need to remove a deck.

Next step: Trying to flush mount the Avic

I believe you need the flush mount kit from pioneer to not have them stick out like a mofo. I still need to order one myself for the van.

Are you referring to the ADT-VA133 dash kit?

Or is there another flush mount kit I'm not aware of. As far as the ADT-VA133 kit goes, it does not sit flush inside my car (MKIV Gli). I'm going to have to do some cutting/shaving in order to get a flush fit.

That maybe the one for the double DIN. I was thinking of the single DIN as that is what I have in the van.

damn...I had no idea Pioneer had a double din kit...I just retrofitted mine with some Weather stripping lol. Holds good, my kit had the flushmount with it, but it didn't fit right so I need another option to make it look good.
