  • No bells / chimes / electronic sounds

All the bells, chimes, and electronic sounds that happen for the various functions of the vehicle have stopped. Ie: Turn signal clicker, door open chime, key still in the ignition chime, seat belt warning etc. They have been intermitent for the last year or so, but would never duplicate while at the dealer for service (just my luck) Now out of warranty. Is there a module that creates these sounds that can be replaced DIY? I am kinda handy, but certainly not a 12V electronics wiz.

if they were intermitent and you did bring it to the dealer, then you have a case. if there is a receipt of you being at the dealer for this issue, then start with that.

i think your module is behind the glovebox . i think it's the comfort module . you can try vag-com and see if it's responding . but i'd take it to the dealer and with proof that you'd been there before for the same problem while under warranty .

Lucky you! I would love to have that stupid chime permanently turned off!

If you previously complained about this prob while the vehicle was under warrenty, then its still covered. Our VW dealership back in Ontario had no problems covering this sort of stuff under warrenty, because we had to. Its hard to deny a claim when you have paper work to back it up...

Thanks. I definately have all my receipts from the service that has been done on the vehicle so I will go through them and see what I can find.
