  • Claybar Magic!!!!

Just a little example of what a clay bar and a little elbow grease can get you.

The white is my wife's 07 Mazda 3. I thought the little specs where tiny rust spots (I was so pissed off). Lone behold the clay bar got rid of them.

It also made the Golf look pretty good.

You cant really do much damage when clay baring. Pick up the meguires kit, its a much softer clay and more user friendly then some kits. Do about a square foot section at a time, and do it in the shade when the paint is cool.
Very important that you wax it after. There will be zero protection on your paint/clearcoat after claying. You will also notice a much better result from the wax at this time also.

I youtubed claybar and a Meguires tutorial came up. Watch that and you will understand how easy it is.

I think the Mothers' kit is easier to use and better results as well.

                        Re: Claybar Magic!!!!

Thanks guys, perhaps I will pick a nice day this summer and get to it and do it. Sorry to change the topic a little, but since we are on exterior care, can anyone recommend a good place to get the odd small paint ding and or little dents fixed? I have a couple mini dents you'll only notice on certain angles, and also the scratchys from odd person opening my passenger door a little hasty (I have a couple of little scratches on my door edge at the bottom) Always reminding people to be careful, but s*** happens I guess, of course they had volunteered and will be paying for it!!!

                            Re: Claybar Magic!!!!

you can definetly do more damage with a claybar. just be EXTREMELY careful not to drop it and get it dirty. If you drop it throw out the piece you dropped. This is also why you break the bar up and just use little pieces at a time.

Use some soapy water as lubricant and you are good to go
