Electrical Issue :(

hey guys just last night on my 03 vw jetta tdi I have noticed that my break lights are on and DO NOT turn off at all!... the car will be locked and no one inside it and the break lights are on. While driving the car the break lights are also on constantly and do not turn off....?

has anyone else experienced this problem and can maybe point me in the right direction as to where and what to look for??...i need to fix this asap before my battery gets drained out over night or worse, I cause an accident!

also another issue is that while the car is on and driving, my glow plug light keeps blinking...could it be that they need to be replaced sometime soon??

I had this happen to me on holidays a couple years back. 99% sure it will be the break light switch. The glow plug light is supposed to do that if the tail lights get stuck on.

It's a recall issue. I fixed mine on my own because I was on holiday and didn't want to book in the car. Part is less than 10$ i think, but it should be covered if a shop does it for you.

If you do it on your own, its not too bad. The length of the pin on the switch is adjustable. The only real tricky part is setting the length properly.
