Anyone increase idle RPM's? Im thinking about doing this since my car is rattling like a snake during idle from the new motor mounts.

well i dunno which is true.. i heard you can with a VAG but never seen it done or really read up on it.. peter asked ken at C1 and he said you can't but i imagine a dealer can do it.. but they probably wouldn't unless the tech was cool

If you have other equipment on then the rattling is consider normal. It is because your engine is powering that thing at idle. The safe range that the Vag can let you do is to increase up to 1300rpm or under.

      Three things to consider.
      1. The problem might result from other problems.
      2. Bad spark plugs or wires.
      3. Use up more gas.

You've got the 03 is better let the dealership to troubleshoot them for you.

yea ambrose is right.. you can try the new green coolant sensor and see if that helps.. i have no idea if mine is the black or the green one but my idle never jumps.. it did along time ago but not anymore really. I found out that it is from power draw too. Tested it with stereo,AC,lights, etc and those would cause the dip from 800-650 then back up.

Its my motor mounts which cause the car to rattle during idle since the cars engine is in drive, it moves around more.

Raising the idle rpm by 70 is suppose to stabilize things but I wasnt sure if anyone has done it.
