Try to push the window up and down with your hand when is up to see if there are any gaps to the top.

MWUHAHAHAHA - I have had the squeaky window seals for a year now. Welcome to the club.

So far, I have tried liquid silicone spray (fixes it for a short time), Gummi Phledge (BMW grease, costs 20 bucks a tube), WD40, and normal soap. Nothing works. What you can do is lower the window just a touch - like 2mm and it makes it rattle less. I think the window motor is too strong and is closing too tight - I'm asking Northland about it on my next service (dealers only spray the liquid silicone, dont bother asking them to fix it).

My driver and passenger windows rattle like crazy in colder weather and once in a while during above 10 degree temps. I've been to dealership about 3 times about this and all they do is "quick fix" it and in a few days the rattling comes back. grrr! They've lubed the seals, replaced the clips on the windows and installed new window kits. If you lower the window just a tiny bit it seems to make the window rattle ALOT less, other than that I can only recommend keeping the seals clean and greased (w/ white lithium grease).

I also have a rattle coming from the defroster vent on the dash, anyone had this? I went to the dealership and complained and took the service tech on a ride with me. The thing is rattling away and the guy says he can't hear anything...GRRRR! They probably did this so they wouldn't have to take the time to rip apart my dash under warranty. I find that if I lightly smack the dash near the vent it goes away. It seems to come and go from month to month (very weird!)

Best of luck with the rattles everyone!

Thats my biggest disapointment with my VW... all the stupid rattles. The Dealership blamed it on my suspension, but it was happening even with my stock suspension. The door rattles like crazy, and it really bugs me alot..... makes the car sound like some cheap hyundai

I'm going to go to the dealership and if they perform just a quick fix and dont solve the real problem, I'm coming back and demanding new doors.

Speaking of noises, my new exhaust is popping loud when i turn off the car, I assume its cooling because if I touch it at the back its burning hot. Its like bloody popcorn popping. What do you guys think?

It burns the inside coating that new exhausts come with, its quite normal, or so I hear on vortex.
