  • MKV Door Skin Removal?

Did a search, and nothing came up on this topic.

I need to take the inside door skin off the passenger front door. There are 4 screws; 3 along the bottom, one adjacent to the top speaker at the front of the door. I have removed these, but the door skin appears to be firmly set in place.

If the top molding of the skin comes off separately that would be great, as I only need to access the very top area.

Anyone ever removed one of these? Possibly to do a speaker install?

    Thanks for your help.

you have to remove the window switch pack trim assembly. there are 2 screws behind the handle there that hold the panel on. the clips are also very tight and yo will probably break 1 or 2 of them.
you probably don't like me because someone else said they didn't lol. <3

Here is a link to a MK4 procedure. It may give you some clues as to where the hidden clips are after you take out the screws.

But then the MK5 may be different...

      Good luck.

if you spend the $100ish up front for a bentley manual, you will be a lot better off.

Well not to jack, but this should be door trim, not skin, skin is the sheet metal on the exterior of the door, just pull on the panel and see where it sticks, see if there is anything on the inside of the trim that could be removed that is potentially hiding a screw, otherwise its just a clip and will pull out. If you can get it let me know i have no problem dropping by and giving you a hand
