  • Q: Best way to black out/paint out my front badge?

Hi, my name is Kerri & I'm an insomniac so I'm posting at 345am...

I'd like to black out the badge on my front stock grill (to satisfy me until I can fill the 'ol hood notch & properly go badgeless). Can the badge be (easily) removed from the grill? I.e. Don't let me try this if I'll break anything...lol Then spray it? Your thoughts?

here is the complete MKIV DIY thread
    http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1835863
This is the exterior section where it tells you how to remove the grill and how to paint the emblems.

Thanks Al. For the record - I did search on here, CVD, & vortex before posting this...neither of these threads came up for me... Now that I know where to go I'll hush up...

Ah cool cool. See I actually want to pick up a new grill for myself, but keep the front badge. I just like having a shiny VW logo in the centre. To each their own, and each looks slick!

              Fu*k. Yes.

That's what I figured it'd look like, damn sleek and sexy.

              Thanks!

                  Yep it's from c-1

It's actually textured but sanded smooth and painted to match.

I wish I had a better pic with it all clean and stuff!!
