  • Pioneer Deck

Saw this in the paper today. Not the fanciest thing out there, but this might be a nice option for an MK4. Looks pretty clean, imo. Be nicer without the blocky LCD letters though... Maybe the next version.

A nicer option for those who love the style of double DIN radios. I personally love that I moved to a single DIN in my car. Gives me an extra slot for storing more crap. Well actually the old lady stores all of her crap in there and the doors and the glove box. Anyway, its about the best looking double DIN cd player I have seen. Not sure the quality of Pioneer brand.

for home stereo stuff, pioneers entry stuff is mediocre, but the elite line is pretty good.

          Re: Pioneer Deck

If I am going to go double din it is going to be a nav/dvd/cd system. I actually like one of the Alpine designs that uses their hand held gps receiver (with mp3 etc) that slides in behind the screen. I haven't really been happy with the current pioneer head unit I have, the quality just isn't there anymore.

not too interested in the nav really. I have a 500$ handheld with more capabilities then in-dash units anyways, and it mounts fairly cleanly.

                ryukin2000, that one looks good.

                  Re: Pioneer Deck

yeah i dont care much for a nav unit. mainly bought it for the bluetooth and touch screen capabilities. i was thinking about the 800 but the screen sold me.

                    Re: Pioneer Deck

I agree with Ryukin, I got my Kenwood for the touch screen capabilities, and for the Bluetooth module. Navigation isn't my concern, maps work just fine if I need one IMO. But I can't go back to non-touch based controls now, hah.

However if you were looking for a decent head unit I might recommend these for you.
