its easy... there are just some tabs holding it on there really...
but since the bumper is so easy to take off i would recommend doing that...
it makes it alot easier for your first time...
then you can at least see what you are doing...

I switch mine off every season and put on the stocker (you can buy one for 70 bucks or so I think?) Definately take off the bumper as the tabs sometimes need some force with a screwdriver to get off and you don't want to break them.

ya for sure take the bumper off. And try not to break tabs, they are pretty tough.

here is a good write up/How-to on taking the bumper off. really easy!!!

It's a 20 minute job to remove/change valences/re-install bumper. Definately do it as it will keep your lip looking new for a long time. My stock valence plows snow better than the city can....I don't think I could get down my street with my GLI valence considering how much snow is piled up. Have seen 1 or 2 GLI's with trashed front valences..very sad.

                right on, thanks alot.
the valences brand new are like... over 500 bux, and that's without painting. shits rough!
i'm def gonna deal with that.
                thanks again!

stock gli valence? the lo one. i kinda want to keep her looking stock, but if i find a tight valence i might change up... as i sit now though, i like the stock gli front valence. lemme know. whatever color it is, i'll just get it painted. the dealership quoted one out at like 585.00 bux before painting. which is ROUGH.
also, i've heard rumor about a VW "graveyard" type of place around calgary full of wrecks and salvage yard type stuff.

By stock he is meaning the OEM NON-GLI valence.
