You ask for more substantiation for my claims, but I've seen none from you! That's the beauty of the internet, everybody has an opinion!

I'm saying that many people that I have talked to have had problems at VW dealerships. The numbers even higher if you include the internet based lists and forums...

Across many VW based boards there seem to be an awful lot of threads with topics regarding the overall low opinions of the customer service at VW dealerships. Other vehicles I own and have owned don't have the same general reputation for poor customer service. You seem to imply that this is all simply due to poor dealers. Perhaps it is, but *you* seem to miss my point that much of a dealership's policies are set by the manufacturer.

You seem to be happy with the level of service you receive, I'm happy for you. It seems to me that there are many, many others that are not...

It sounds like there is a good dealer in Medicine Hat, after a friend recently visited the VW dealer there. But I'd prefer to not have to drive my car 550Km's and back to get half decent service however...

Anyways, we seem to be saying the samethings back and forth to each other, which doesn't seem to be very productive. I understand what you are saying, I just happen to have a different set of expectations from a car dealership...

Do I need to dig up statistics for you, I would think my own experience as a manufacture of parts for VAGs would hold some weight. I don't make false claims, I tell people exactly like it is, just as I have in the other posts I have made during my short life on this board. That is absolutely fabulous that you have talked to so many VW owners in the universe that you have calculated enough statistics to build an opinion, a faulty one at that, to hold to yourself as fact.

As far as this comment goes..

Perhaps it is, but *you* seem to miss my point that much of a dealership's policies are set by the manufacturer.
Tt doesn't matter what the policies are that are set by the manufacturer, if the dealership wants to be nice, they will, if they want to be a dick, they will. The only time this isn't held true is when the manufacturer has strict regulations on warranty work and forces the dealerships to get approved for all major work in person, like Subaru does. Can you not understand this. The CEO of VAG can sit behind a desk and set policies all day long about how the customer is always right, to fix everything blah blah, but in the end, it is the dealership that chooses. I keep repeating it, and you aren't understanding that basic concept, which has lead you to start blaming VAG for having horrendous service, but that is a fault of the dealership NOT VAG. VAG actually has one of the best dealership quality departments of any manfacturer, have you tried CALLING them, usually a personal "assistant" will be assigned to your case, setup the appointment for you, and MAKE SURE everything is done to your specifications. Have you actually GONE to the manufacturer for help, since you are the one denouncing their policies and actions. I find that many people who ***** about the service of their cars fail to do that. Bobby Joe's VW in Bobby Joe, Florida is not indicative of VAG.

You now own a VW, which more and more people are modifying, and then they wonder why the dealership doesn't fix it every time. This is mainly because there are so many clowns that go in there, with faults of their vehicle as a result of their own doing that the manufacturer CANNOT just assume that the customer has come in good faith. More and more VW drivers are teenage kids that have a propensity to modify their vehicles, especially when they don't know what they are doing. If I was the service manager, and some clown came in and told me his engine blew up, and he had modified his car etc, what is my first assumption? It is betting odds that it is the individuals fault for the engine mishap.

It is human nature to believe that the grass is always greener on the other side. Like I said, people rarely tell you about the good experiences at the dealership, they just delve on the bad ones. And as for you not wanting to drive to the better dealership, well boo hoo, that is life. You win some you lose some, I don't understand where people started EXPECTING to have everything handed to them on a silver platter. If you don't like your local VW's service, and repeated calls to VWoA don't resolve the matter, don't buy another VW until you move out of that area or the dealership gets better. In the end it is your dollars that make or break their current service standards.

Also, don't assume that I haven't had my service problems. I was one of the reasons that one of the local service managers got fired. I don't accept ridiculous excuses and will complain to VW when it happens. On the other hand, I have made calls to VW complimenting the dealership when they did a good job.

As far as other people not getting good experiences, there are 1000x more that have had good experiences. You just only hear the bad ones, and VW owners I have found spend more time on enthusiast sites etc. Why is VWVortex the biggest performance car site on the web, and it is dedicated to only VAG!?!?!?! What you hear and read online is no indication of the actual nature of the service of a manufacturer, which again has no control over the handlings of the dealership.

But if you want me to dig up statistics for you, I guess I can. But here is one statistic, 99% of car owners want to believe that the manufacturer owes the world to them, and they are full of ****. People ***** far too often, especially when they are in the wrong, and I personally for one, and too damn tired of it.

I have already wasted enough time with you, you just remind me of a whiny little school kid. The initial thing that pissed me off was your assumption that Honda warrantied it because they didn't want people thinking that the engine blew up on its own accord. This is utter imbecility to say the least.

Every single time I respond I write 50x more than you, and you respond with some inane banter completely devoid of any understanding whatsoever. So I don't care anymore, you can think what you want, by your own decree, VW is the worst, so be it as it is. :yahsure: Whatever you say bro!

That's classic. _You_ calling me "whiny"... Haha...

The statistics that you where going to use to justify your claims didn't work out? I figured as much... You're too predictable. Too many people make up statistics in an attempt to justify their statements, but the internet makes it too easy to catch people lying.

Hopefully you will get some resolution on your issue. There must be someone at the dealership that cares about customer service.

I hoping that Southcentre works out, I've had pretty good luck their in years past...
