I have 17" OEM Classix on my '07 GTI I have bent one and cracked another.
Both from the same pothole.

Not saying you didn't get week ones, but this wonderful temperature and alloy are not exactly the best mix. That is why steel wheels are also recommended for the cold weather as they will give a little with pot holes while alloy's don't have that flexibility.Ben
