Hood Release

2000 Jetta

I was going to open my hood this morning to charge my battery as I neglected to plug the car in yesterday and as I was pulling the hood release it snapped off. so now I am not able to fully close my hood. Anyone have some insight on how this would be repaired?

same thing happened to me last year... thankfully, it was covered under my warrenty but I believe the guy said that it was around 150 for the part. Don't quote me on that though.

the pull is just a plastic piece that clips on so no biggy. As it happens i have one lying around that the dealer gave me instead of a golf one when mine broke. if I can find it you can have it.
