My son's Golf has 205s. It does not like starting cold. Below 0 C, the cranking time increases. I tried it this morning (-25?) and it started after maybe 20 seconds of cranking. With my Jetta (stock), it always catches in a second.
- I've checked that all glow plugs work
- I've increased the glow time.
- Timing is fine (slightly advanced).
- Battery is solid.
- I've tried a couple of different IQ setting, but it does not seem to matter.
I still need to check that the temperature sensor is reading right, which I'll do tonight.
The question is does anyone else find that larger injectors cause cold start problems? I'm wondering if it is worth trying stock injectors.
