Re: 0w40 oil, is this acceptable?

Do you realy believe that the oil at CTire is with OEM specs and is not manufactured after CTire specs (cheaper version)?

      Could one summarize:

-No one trusts CT for delivering original oils?
-No one buys oils from CT?
-Despite the doubt for quality people are buying?

It is not Canadian Tire oil, it is Mobil 1....

None of the oils discussed are CT brand oils. They are all well known name brands.

lol it would be no different than buying a coke from CT, its not different than walmart, or any other store carrying a specific brand, i run mobil 0-w40 all year round in the S and it loves it!

My mistake – was not accurate in stating the case:
The question is not about CT brands of oil, the question is about Mobil, Castrol, etc sold by CT.
Do the brand name oils and other items (tires) have consistent specs all over the market place or the large buyers/distributors could enjoy deviation from the factory in order to get larger profit and be able to do sells/discounts?

It is exactly the same oil sold everywhere else.

Those tests of oil though are from late August with of course the oil being bought and used many months before that. Since then Shell has changed the formula for their oil and some say its cooking turbo's now.

I went looking, here is the thread that this was first mentioned in

^ Ideally. The mobil 1 TDT is 41.99, I think we can do better than that...

I sent an email out to the MillerAG Contact to see what the price is on the Esso XD-3 0W40 for a 4X4 box. Didn't get any last time I was there as I got the ESP, but by the sounds of it Walmart Price for the TDT is almost no difference.
