  • Fluid change intervals

My car (a 04 Jetta Wagon, 1.8T, manual trans.) has 59,XXX km's on the odo. Which fluids should the car have had flushed and replaced up to this point?

I am the second owner and I'm sure nothing besides the oil has been done. Thanks.

Brake fluid should have been done every 2-3 years, George told me coolant isn't as important - when I had my tstat done they had to drain quite a bit and just put new in on top. Oil obviously and I did my manual gearbox with syncromesh even though they claim it's lifetime. I think every 5 years would be good idea. Never flushed the PS so far.

They all seem kind of out of date if they're saying tbelt gets replaced at 160K. The correct interval is more like 100Kish (70K miles or so) and has been ever since I got my car.

Do it all, nothing is lifetime!!!!!!, Start fresh for piece of mind, also T-belt and h2o pump from what I've seen while @ SCFC, 100k or five years is a good safe interval, I've seen 02's with 64k with sever t-belt cracks, mostly on 1.8t's. 160k too long!! was 128k at you major service.
              Back at 1518!!! Boo Ya!!!!!!
