  • Tires ideas?

Hey guys, well since the last 2 days have been a little slick out, i have realized just how warn my tires are right now.

IM looking to get some decent alseason tires that will still handle nice in the summer. Anyone have any ideas? I dont wanna spend alot, just best bang for buck i guess.

    Thanks.

i got khumo winters for both cars last winter from Urban Exp for a good price. Been happy with them. I'm sure he can get you a decent all season though. If you have enough tread for next summer though on your current tires, you may want to consider winters for now.

I run Hankook w404 studded on steelies. Or you can run Nokian Hakkapelitas.

You're slipping because of the compound not because of lack of tread. No matter which All seasons you buy they're still going to blow on ice IMO.

ultimately, cheap house brand cdn tire winters would get better snow/ice traction then a good all season.

I have gone many winters with just alseasons and done just fine. I know my current tires are very bald and old. I may go alseasons or winters, i guess we will have to see. Thanks for the advice guys.

                Re: Tires ideas?

I'm uber-lazy with tires and stuff so I usually rock A/S' with no problems...

I highly recommend Nokians...they're pricey...and the original WR's sucked in rain and slush but the WR G2's supposedly fixed that. But in snow and on ice, the compound and tread worked very very well when I had them on my fwd A4 1.8t and they wore really well. Hard to keep air in them though....and a beast to balance....

Any one using the kumho ast or the asx alseason tire? They seem to be the best deal around and was just curious of some personal reviews. thanks

The Goodyear triple tread all season tires work great for me in the winter.
