  • auto>6-speed?

Well ive been thinking for awhile in getting a 6spd for my wagon. right now its an auto car, I have had nothing wrong with it and has never let me know ever! The real only reason why i am thinking about doing a swap is MOAR POWA! Anyways, question is. Should i wait till the tranny goes or just "give'r"? I know its probly going to cost a bit (lol) So another question..Should i sell it and buy a 5spd wagon? I would rather keep mine tell you the truth. love this car lots.I really havent seen any threads anywhere show/telling about auto to 6spd swaps. So if you have any info you would like to share that would be awesome.

    Thanks for looking.

p.s I saw that eurojet is working on a BT kit for 1.8T. looks yummy!! chris?

I looked into swaping auto for 5spd into my old-school mustang....it is stupidly expensive.....i couldnt personally justify it

You can do it as the TDI community has had people do it. Need a 240 mm flywheel, and of course all the shifter cables, center console, and stuff like that.
Would I recommend it, no, not unless you have loads of money, or a parts car and lots of time. Honestly a 5 speed with a taller 5th gear is probably a better route then a 6 speed if you decided to ditch the auto.

It's insane - just sell your auto, and buy a 5 speed for slightly less money (or less kms). Then mod the crap out it with a BT or something if you just must spend the coin.

its all there to mount up just get the pedal assy the lines the cables and an ecs stage 1-3 clutch they come with the flywheel you need and then dont get a 6 spd . ( they are noisy as hell with a one piecs flywheel) unless its this 6 spd http://www.performance-cafe.com/prod...oducts_id=2235

I would like to do the same but for that price plus labour I think I would sell my car and buy a stick

lol ya probly. But i have time on my side. lol. I would probly do the bulk of the work myself. PLus a heated garage! lol

but IDK yet. we'll see, would be sweet. Would be much easier to sell it and buy a stick for sure. i should have just bought a stick to begin with.

The tip isn't all that bad, I've actually come to enjoy it, mainly becuase I drive downtown everyday and when I did have a 5spd car I hated the rush our commute becuase of it.

it will be cheaper to buy a manual car if you are not doing the work your self . if you are doing your own labor and love the car . the clutch is part of life with any manual . so take the price of it out since you will need it with the new car you would be buying . and you can get all the parts for conversion from tunedub parts or the tex . for a few grand max . so for like 3k own labor in you could have a 5 spd car ( this is based on finding the best deals and no paying for labor . labor will tack on no less than 2 k)
