If I do the EGR delete what happens to the ASV? What are the consequences?

your car will rattle a bit when shutting off...

if you over fill your oil and it wicks you blow up your engine..
you want that flap to work believe me.

if you have a turbo blow up and feed oil in it does the same . but if you just delete the egr system and retain the Throttle body there it will be fine
