black one would be the best to buy.. i wonder how much the guages go for from a dealer.. peter perhaps you can get these in then i can have the nice ones..

Do you have over 9000KM? If you do -- you are S.O.L. if you don't... then stop driving, buy the gauge cluster and install it. You have the same discount as the rest of us -- call Fifth Ave -- but before you do -- you owe the club money.

nah, theres no limit on what you have now, everyone on tdiclub has done it. think about it, what if what you have now fails? you're stuck without a cluster forever? no, it can be done. there's a long pdf somewhere floating on tdiclub on how to reprogram it yourself using vagcom, it gets all technical, but you can do it, for example, i remember that when you input the new mileage, it chops off the last digit, so if you had 14,500km, you have to type in "1450", this will set the new odo to 14,500km. if you type in 14,500 you will have 145,000, ahaha, so be careful, i wont bother looking for the pdf until i decide to do this mod.

There is a slightly different gauge cluster in the '04 and this cluster may be cheaper to get in North America in a little while.

I priced it out a little while ago along with the OEM HID. The Gauge was around a 1 G i believe but if any one wants I can go there and see actual prices.... the OEM HID look unreal also

Damn I might have to take a rip up to edmonton then. The price i was quoted for a euro cluster is like umm 450cdn i think after conversion I honestly forget the price but it was something like that. OEM hids coming in spring too dale! Those look so nice.. and then maybe I can even get torquesteer to make me a custom angel eye kit for em.

We were working on a set of OEM HID's for a customer, but ran into a slight problem...they are unopenable. We tested the sealant in temperatures over 300 degrees, and the lens did not budge! We even cut off a piece of the adhesive and put it in the oven at over 350 F, and no changes in pliability were made.

HOWEVER, if you can get them open, I have a set waiting for you!

                        Thanks,

                        Ben

damn! I have no idea what the front is made from but I imagine you could just smash it and then just replace it with a OEM NA one or something. Although I've seen on vortex smoked OEM hids and nobody makes them so they were home-made so i wonder how they got them open?

Hmm... Do you think people would be willing to smash them if we put it in the instructions

I would suggest contacting whoever smoked their OEM HID's and ask. It's possible that they used some of the 'spray-on' smoke/paint, and thus would not have to open their lights. If you found a way to open them, you'd make a lot of people very happy! We've been turning away customers left and right :(
