I think that's a crazy price. I was back home in Ontario and I went to my local dealer and they had 2 08 r32's for sale and the asking price was 34900 full load and just 5000 miles. it's really hard to find a nice r32 that's stock in the US for under 24k

I'd rather buy a used MK4 R32 and mod it nicely for a fraction of the cost for that MK5. The MK5 is blah
Double word.
Why I bought an MK4 and not a MK5:
#1. 3 "pedals" on the floor and not "paddles" around my steering wheel,
#2. The MK4 was an icon... The MK5 is "meh". Also, not a fan of the "civic-like" styling.
#3. The MK4 "looks" match the car. The MK5 looks too "soft". Again, another car company doing what they can to add more "mass appeal" to the R32 to hopefully tap into a broader market... all at the risk of losing what the car was all about in the first place. (Think Mustang 5.0 vs. that thing that came afterwards... Think the original R32 Skyline vs the GT-R... )
Anyhow, just my $0.02 worth. Word.

Still even with the dollar higher there are much better deals to be had.
I just about bid on a higher mileage R32 on ebay this week, ended up selling for 22,900 US.
22,900 US @ 1.22 = $27,938 plus 6% duty = $29,614, even with a couple grand shipping I am over 10g ahead of the SCFC, and I will not include GST as you still have to pay that on both cars.
Did I also mention this car had navigation which is an $1,800US option.

$30,000 for that car is not a bad deal at all.
I would have thought about bidding too.

ok but also you now are at 30k for 22,900 us. and get the car up so another 1500-3000 (depending on how you do it ) and 11% at the border 35300 roughly. so it is still cheaper to go down for that particular one but its way more than it was a month ago . and soon it wont be worth it . like in the case of a4s . you can find a car up here for the same price now . and jettas cheaper up here
Yes I understand the exchange has forced this to not be as good of an option, but also don't forget you are still paying 5% GST on the 42K at SCFC too. Just saying that their car is still not the best deal, especially with 17K kms on it, and we all know they paid way less in exchange too.

I still have it for sale but I don't advertise it anymore since too many kids were telling me how much they cost in the states and how much I'm making on it.
This car needs nothing ,it is clean title not a rebuild,it is in Edmonton registered ready for winter with extra set of winter wheels.
This car needs to find a new owner that will appriciate it for what it is.
It has 115000 km not miles I will sell it if somebody gives me $27800.00 obo
