I actually was looking at the cobalt when going with my boost gauge, but just didn't see it as being worth its cost, although it is a very nice gauge. If I was going to spend that much money, I would go with a digital instead of mechanical boost gauge. My AVC-R acted as the electronic boost gauge though.

Amazingly enough, after probably 1.5-2 years delay, the Omori (AWE-Tuning commissioned) stock gauges are now out. Many people were waiting and waiting to get these, and they just wouldn't come out.

    Well, they are here...

If I may add, the gauge is bad ass.

Ha sweet - I was watching Omori from a month after getting the car, but they wouldn't get it out. Mine is actually an Apexi EL2 60mm - the cobalt is diff. Tho aside from the lit up needle, the omori doesn't look much different than the VDO.

Has anyone bothered to try that JudgeJudo light kit for VDO gauges for 40US? It apparently matches the blue perfectly. Shrug.

I don't know, I pulled the dumbshit route...

My pillar cost 270 bucks or so, and the gauge cost $30 But the match is great, mainly because my gauge is VDO. A lot of people aren't aware but VDO makes most of the stock gauges in your VAG cars

Oh and my VDO matches perfectly... you just need to find the right "condom" for the bulb.

Wow, I stand corrected, it sure looked like a Cobalt!

The ONLY beef with the VDO gauges is the red needle. There's no way to light it up properly without completely destroying the gauge. And unless you do a 3 LED setup for the blue backlighting, you get different intensities around the gauge no matter which condom you use. Mine actually matches the dash LESS in person than in the photos, but when driving it's perfect (doesn't draw the eye, but is readable).

As always, to each their own - but I find it odd that the people that complain about spending 100+ bucks on a gauge are the same people that don't see an issue with 100+ on pedal covers, or metal interior dash accents. :mrscrewy:

The only interior modification you will see in my car is the AVC-R, well and the peeling rubber **** that VW likes to line their interior with

Yeah its quality, definitely going to be a selling point when I sell my car.

Yes... I think that AWE-tuning gauge is the one for me. Pricey... yes, but hell... anything for my baby. Now... to decide on the second gauge for my gauge pod. Any suggestions...

                      Cheers all...

P.S. Hope everyone's enjoyin' the snow!

I would say A/F if you want to go through the trouble of having a proprietary o2 sensor installed since you can't find one compatible with the .5 volt sensors that the AWPs have. EGT isn't a bad choice, and gives you a good idea of what is going on with the engine.

                            Hey lsc2g,

As this is actually my first winter in Calgary for a long time... another Sasky boy... yes, that's me. Was wondering when you guys usually change to your winter wheels? I mean, I've seen people golfing in the middle of December and other crazy stuff here in Calgary. Looks like the installation date of your winter tires is at best... a crap shoot isn't it?!

Anyhow, can't wait to see all those new boost gauges! Those things are gonna rock.

                            Cheers...

hey when you guys say they rattle do you mean the needle kinda goes up/down really fast while in the same position or the actual gauge rattles on the dash/pod?
