I purchased a pioneer AVH-P4000DVD double din DVD unit. and after getting it home and doing up some of the wiring and getting my monsoon double din deck din out. I realized that the dude at the AV store was a douchebag and I cant just "slide" it in to the same hole my stock radio came out of.

I have been looking for some sort of install kit but i can't find any on this side of the pond.

any ideas..

car is a MK4 jetta with a monsoon double din system

the mk4 has a double din slot

you won't be able to just slide it in but the unit should have a cage that goes in and it fits into the cage

nope no cage, just a little trim piece to cover the gap. there is about 1/4" on all sides surrounding the unit. so it doesn't sit in there snug at all

There is no cage that comes with this unit.

You need to buy one separately possibly? For the MkV you would need this:

For the Mk4 people say you can take the black plastic harness off of a stock double-DIN monsoon:

Looks like this would work...google searched it, but i could be wrong..looks like it would work. ppl on good ol' vortex say it works also. at your own risk stylz!

I think your best bet is that pioneer kit.
