  • almost time for a new clutch... any suggestions??

So, I received news a little while ago that my 2000 Jetta 2.0 is going to need a new clutch soon. I was just wondering if anybody has any suggestions or preferences of what to go with for aftermarket rather than a stock clutch?

I'm not looking for anything to drastic, just something that will do the daily job plus a little extra.

Also, anybody have experience ordering from ecstuning at all?? or any other sites in the states that offer better prices??

With a 2.0L I think a performance clutch would be a waste of money. Just go with a stock unit.

would it make a difference with longevity between the two though? That's my main concern since I want to keep the car for a while.

I agree with what has been said already.

I would keep your stock flywheel and get an oem clutch.

High performance clutches and flywheels won't give you the OEM feel which IMO is a nice thing especially on a 2.0L. Having clutch chatter on a 2.slo would be embarassing

heh.. my TDI one did right around 200000 too.
Went with a lightened flywheel and VR6 clutch in the TDI, but stayed with stock on the 2.0.
