immobilizer?

    immobilizer?

    When did VW's start having chipped keys/immobilizers? For the sake of insurance, I have an antitheft discount on my 2001 Jetta. I'm not sure what my 98 jetta K2 edition had, if anything.

    Nope, A3 vehicle did not have immobilizers in North America. They didn't start until 2000 in the A4 I believe.

              those volvo guys mostly drive the real old stuff and the guys with the new stuff are an older crowd and can't be bothered.
