plashing red water temperature sign?

I got the red temperature light coming on this morning shortly after I started the car. The beep sounds five times (I think) and the light flashes for about a minute then goes off again. The temperature gauge is working ok. I don’t have a users manual so can someone pls translate. Im guesing its either low water level or a sensor on its way out.

Low coolant my friend. You need to buy the special vw stuff and top it up. Should be fine after that. look under the hood in that round container with the blue screw off top. If it looks a little low, thats for sure your problem.

Mine does that as the temperatures get cooler.

Add some coolant problem should go away.

cheers guys, jsut wanted to make sure it wasnt a dying sensor before i topped up.

and of course that shold be flashing not plashing lol
