So the short story is that I have been hearing a metal rattling noise coming from the underbody of my mkIV Jetta lately and because of work haven't been able to bring it into George until today. From the noise he tells me that it's the catalytic converter and that because my car is extremely close to 193km (192700km) to stop driving it now!
I made a few calls to the dealership and found out that there is an extended warranty for 10yrs/193km. I booked an appointment at 5th Ave, but they didn't give me any guarantees about documenting my mileage at the moment and that I had to come in to place a work order. Now, I do not want to drive my car because of my job which requires me to run around town and I'll probably go over 193km by the time of my appointment.
I'm just wondering if there is anything else that I can do so that I can still qualify for the warranty on the catalytic converter?
Thanks in advance.
