My S4 has a sweet middle arm rest. Not only does it fold, once folded down the height can be raised or lowered. Very nice feature on long drives.

Looking at the photos show normal Torx screws....not stripped screws.

Try driving 25 hours straight with no armrest, I dont think I could have made it without it, mines always down.

Those screw extractors usually work pretty good, i would defenitly try a bigger torx bit first though.

after 25hrs, i'm not sure i'd feel my arm enough to notice an armrest under it.

on a long trip i put it down sometimes but usually it doesn't bother me.. i always keep mine folded up

I think the original poster didnt realise he needed a torx driver, the bite looks ok in that photo

I love my arm rest, wrist changing is not a big deal and i hate not having anywhere to rest my arm when driving, I particularly hate it when the window edge is too high n the left arm rest is too low, grrrrr

The OP might have used a pic off of vortex jsut as a reference as to what specific screws he was talking about.

I never like the arm rest in the mk4, but now i cant live without it. I also hate when ppl hog the arm rest, i just give em a little nudge to GTFOMA(Get tha fu*k off my armrest) haha

You need a torx for almost every interior panel on a MK4. I should know as I have lost a ton of mine

my dog site in the passenger seat or stands in the back both ways he hogs the arm rest and then has the balls to grumble at me when i make him get off it
