Check that. He posted on CVD.

I just want to thanks those highly talented AMA guys, they decided to put a nice toonie-size hole in my oil pan on the way over to TuneDub."

              Just a toonie.....
They put a hockey puck sized hole on my brothers tdi, and that was with an evolution skid plate on the car.

How the heck do you put a hole in the pan with a skidplate on?

I would imagine to put a hole in the pan with the skidplate, that they hooked up to the oil-drain/check hole that's in the EVO skidplates. when he tensioned the car, it bit into the oilpan.

How I really don't know how. The car was in an accident on the deerfoot, but it was not leaking there at the scene. I know because I went out to pick up my brother and being a mechanic at one time gave the car a once over to survey the damage. No oil left on the ground, nothing leaking there on the road. The car got to the house and parked on the street, look under it and there is a big oil patch under the engine. I didn't get to checking it out till about a month later, but yeah I was just as surprised as you. The pan was not touching the skid plate, and with the hole so big I would have seen something for the 45 mins it was waiting to be towed.

Damn guessed it first time , just hope theres not too much damage to the head. I remember reading about a guy that had it happen to him, he payed big bucks to get it all fixed up then after a month of driving it around the engine died again when one of the big or small end bearing went on him, damaged in the impact with the head when the belt went, more big bucks :( tell him to get the piston play checked?!?

Not all evo plates have the oil hole

I think a drop in engine replacement would be the better way to go. Get a low mileage engine and save the grief.
