          I figure they're making about $5k.

          $28500 for the car + 6% Duty + 5% GST + $1000 Shipping...

          Just a guess though

Not sure if you could get a R32 with Nav for 28,500 but yes the dealers in Canada are not going to have some with out making some coin.

I am really really wanting a MKV R32, just wish they had 4 door versions.

              Re: R32 Importing has Begun

Does anyone know where the R32 were Made? I'm wondering because my jetta was Dirt cheap to bring in from the states thanks to those crafty Mexicans, who built it (made in mehico). I'm hoping the R32 was built in Mexico to so no duty. Also found a few for dirt cheap 13,995 to 17,999 so reasonably priced.

R32s are made in Wolfsburg Germany, I believe saw many when I toured the plant last year and some looked to be US spec.

R32s are cool, I am debating whether trading my 08 GTI would be worth it. Up here at our altitude the GTI would be just as fast in the straight line and chipped it would be a lot quicker but AWD and the sound of the VR6 alone might be worth it

I drove a MK5 R32 as well and while it was quick, it wasn't really as fast as I thought it would be. That said, the sound of the engine alone justifies it over a regular or chipped GTI.
