    Re: Test drove boosted R32

Personally if I was getting one, which I am probably not I would be going MKV, just my choice. Dealers will still not sell new but you can get a low mile demo no problem, and lots of choice and price is right.

      My 2 cents...

When I was visiting my parents in Los Angeles last Christmas, I test drove a MK4 R32 and a MK5 R32 back to back at a dealership and all I can say is this... the MK5 pales in comparision.

Personally, I'm not a big fan that the new model only comes with the DSG and the MK4 tranny really just felt way more responsive to what I wanted the car to do. Engine wise, the MK5 felt sluggish and bulky... and the interior was a disappointment; the seats are nowhere near as comfortable or supportive as in the MK4. My dad, who was with me for both drives, said exactly the same thing... The MK5 is still a beautiful R32, but the MK4 was definitely the hands down winner for us.

              That's another option - yes.

There is a 9K mile DBP MK5 R32 for sale at a place called Luxor in Scottsdale. Went to go check it out but they still want close to $30K for it. But mostly it's the fact there is no manual transmission that bugs me.

I smell a eurodrivers "R32 Edition" club coming on...

I personally took a run at this one however... just couldn't get over the 88,000 miles (ie. 140,000+ kms) thing. Doh!

                  Gentlemen,
I'm voting for the Conservatives next election for this reason alone.
