Error Code

Okay figured out my error code. I reset it and it still came back on within 3 mins of restarting car. The error is a "temp coolant sensor". Is it an easy fix? Should I do it myself or take it into VW? My car doesnt overheat but stays at a constant 90. I have tried keeping the air conditioner on(due to fans continuing to run) but it did nothing.
What do you guys/girls think?

From what I understand, LOTS of information on this (DIY's and such) around. I did mine on my S4 yesterday and it was a 15 minute job. I think, depending on what engine you have, it could be done even faster.

Buy the part at PartSource, get the o-ring as well. It'll be under $20. No need to go to dealership at all.

easy on tdi too. i'd get a little extra coolant in case you make a mess like i did... shouldnt be to hard.

Thanks all,

The next thing is could it be the coolant sensor modual and not the thermostat itself? I drove around tonight and the check engine light never came on at all. SO I am at a loss on where to start to figure this out. Dont want to change the thermostat if I dont need to. Any ideas?

thats what i meant. coolant sensor, not thermostat. i would say it is likely that its the sensor.
