Quick question....I own Vag Com HEX+CAN. My laptop crashed and need to reinstall it. The only problem is I just had my engine light come on. Do i need to run TEST & SAVE (I think I still need to) before I run a diagnosis on the car? So run TEST AND SAVE with the error code already there, then check to see what the error is?
I hope this makes sense.

if it's what i'm thinking you are talking about, the test and save is for the communication settings between the your laptop to you car. you have to run it before you can run a scan anyways. gl
