This just might be the mk3 to beat. Can't wait to do a run when you get it back together. Let me know if you want some help!!!

BTW, you going to need the motor picked up?

I think Graeme's truck is booked for it, but I'll let you know. I'll call you when I know what night we're getting it for sure.

          Re: Project "quicksilver"

So today was engine day... YAY!

I picked up the engine from Lawrence in the afternoon and it didn't take long for Andrew and I to get started. I didn't take any pictures today, but we got the following bolted up / installed onto the engine...

          -transmission
          -starter
          -exhaust manifold
          -turbo
          -wastegate
          -oil return line
          -engine mounts

I also heat wrapped the downpipe. We'll put that on tomorrow morning just before we drop the engine back into the car.

Hopefully by the end of tomorrow most of the big stuff is close to being done and it'll just be minor items to cleanup before it's sent off to Calgary Autoworks for the finishing touches.

          Getting closer to turbo time...

              Re: Project "quicksilver"

Today was a very productive day... I took pictures, I but don't have the camera with me :( ... I'll upload them soon.

              -Engine is back in.
              -Downpipe installed.
              -Short runner installed.
              -Fuel rail installed.
-Electrical is pretty much all hooked up (with the exception of the lights... the front rebar is still off the car.)
              -Coolant hoses are in.
              -Spark plug wires are in.
              -Washer bottle back in

...ok... so you get the drift. I installed a lot today, only a little to go.

              Still need to install:
              -vacuum lines
              -a/c lines & condenser
              -radiator
              -front rebar
              -power steering reservior and pump
              -alternator
              -oil cooler

Sounds like a lot, but it's really not. Car should hopefully be good to go to Calgary Autoworks by the end of tomorrow night.

                  Thanks!!

Lawrence is going to be doing the fabrication of all the intercooler piping, hooking up the downpipe to the exhaust system and just doing a general 'once over' to make sure everything looks good.

                    Re: Project "quicksilver"

Decided to do a little more cleanup and rearrage a few things, so it's taken an extra couple days. Plan is now for it to visit Lawrence on Friday.

                    A quick pic from today...
