  • Blue coolant light...

    Hey,

On my wifes 2000 Beetle she has a blue coolant light(stays on not flashing) that comes on when she starts for about 2-5 mins. I checked her manual and it says its just because the engine is cold. It happens even when its warm like 28 degrees this weekend. Just curious does it happen on all cars made this year? Never has happens on my car. Any info regarding this would be great!

    Thanks,
    Kane

Its normal. It will stay on until the engine reaches operating temp. Its just a warning to avoid heavy throttle and high rpm while the engine is cold. Mine will come on for a minute even in the summer. It will start to flash red if your coolant is low.
