well Triple G's rabbit build thread got me inspired to start one of my own, since I thought it needed more of them around here anyway. so here's my g60 gti build.

a few months ago i bought a wrecked corrado. stripped it.

two weeks ago i went to princess auto and bought a lift and MIG. parked the gti in the garage and began project powerfist.

    saturday morning

heres a nice pic of my junk.

    washed the bay

    meh.

end of day one. i also washed up the new motor first thing in the morning prior to stripping the gti.
you probably don't like me because someone else said they didn't lol. <3

sunday. installed new mounts and dropped the motor in.

i also removed to rod and link shifter assembly.

started on the wiring. i'm putting the Digi 1 harness in the car and stripping out the CIS-e stuff. fun.

throughout the week, i worked on the cable shift linkage. since i'm using the 02A from the corrado. i cut the base of of the old shifter box because it has different mounting points. by the time last saturday came around, i assembled it.

    cut and notched.

the powerfist MIG making an apperance.

yay flux core spatter. but it did a better job than the one i didn't have 2 weeks ago.

    primer,

    painted and installed.

i had to split up the weekend with yard work so i've basically just been putting an hour here and there during the week fitting boost tubes, intercooler, wiring, little stuff to keep it moving along. i'm waiting on a few parts to show up but i hope to have it going this weekend.

    more to come.

That's going to be a lot of fun when it's done!

I'd be tempted to work on the notch instead though, my 2nd favorite Air Cooled.

thanks. the MIG is 110. i'm digging the trench for the upgrade out to the garage this weekend. princess auto's return policy will most likely let me return for the 240 volt one at a later date. it does a pretty decent job for what it is.

on to the update. today my parts showed up for the cable clutch. eurovan actuator, cable and bracket.

i installed the actuator in the slave cylinder location.

notice the difference between the two brackets?

i was going to build one but availability paved the way for new. here's the installed product.

works slick. i also grabbed some parts from the junkyard to make the swap a little cleaner.

i also cleaned up some more wiring and modified the Digi2 computer mount to accept the Digi1 computer.

i still have to paint and finish it off.
