  • Hippity Hop - 20vT Bunny Time

Thought it was time for another build thread, haven't had one in a while
I bought a 1.8T last fall and haven't had anything to put it in till I bought a Rabbit a month and a bit ago.

The motor is a AEB 1.8T, so it will bolt right into the car, no modified brackets needed. Ill be using a K03s with its stock manifold for now, should be plenty for the 1800lb car

This is what I got done tonight:

    The afternoon started with this

    Working away

    Getting closer

    And finally out

Im going to be cleaning the bay and then give it a coat of POR 15

this is what happens when a car dies at a 3 way stop and i have to push it 300 yards. so what if the battery wont charge....just swap the engine that should sort it out.

I wish I had the time to do something like this. I can't even finish the project I already have. Good job my man.

                              Update:

Today I scrubbed down the engine bay to prepare it for the POR 15
Andrew has the pictures of that.

But this is what it looked like after a good scrubbing:

After it dried I used POR 15s Metal Ready

Let it dry for about 45min:

                              Then it was painting time:

                              Safety First!

                              First coat done:

Ill do touch ups tomorrow, let it dry for the night.
