So, Ric was kind enough to come over and plug his vag com into my golf to try and help diagnose the miss fire but the software wouldnt see the car, just wouldnt connect. When he tried it in his it worked straight away!
so looking for help on two fronts, anyone know why it wouldnt connect to a 2000 GTI? it did work last year when one of the guys plugged in during the Dyno run, he got in no problem. anyone with the full vagcom version want to give it a try?
And the missfire, seems to be dropping a cylinder when the boost starts to build, typical symptom of a weak spark making the situation worse under higher cylinder compression. can drive it as normal until it gets over 2000 rpm then if you ask for power above gently acceleration it starts to stutter. youve gotta say coil pack first out but just wondering if anyones had anything else similar. Plus George replaced the two most unreliable coil packs just a month or so ago (apparently this year car has two types of coils in).
Anyone got any ideas?
anyone got a spare coil pack i can try and diagnose with?
anyone?
