The noise is normal, the less weight on the fly wheel the louder it will get, If you heard my car with a 10lbs fly wheel and a 4 puck, it sounds like its falling apart in there, The vr6 clutch upgrade is good, not much noise at all. you can always play some music

It was starting to slip a tiny bit in the higher gears, but the extra torque from the K04 pushed it over the edge. Keep in mind, my car has been chipped since about 7000km and driven hard pretty well since it was broken in.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate the feedback from people like you and turbomeyers, who actually have first hand experience with this stuff, as opposed to those who have just read vwvortex and think they are a guru on the subject.

            Why do you continue?

I never said I was guru. You don't need first hand experience to know this stuff, a little research such as the links posted by Kor would have done the trick in the first place. Sheeesh!

Go play with your remote control cars.

Why do you continue to assume that I didn't research anything? I knew a lightweight flywheel would make noise, but I did not know what kind of noise, as no where in any of those links or any others on VW Vortex, is there a sound file or video showing the noise. I was mearly trying to make sure that the noise I was hearing WAS infact due to the flywheel, and not a sign of impending transmission doom. Besides, everything on vortex must be taken with a grain of salt, becuase there are lots of people on there with no expreince on the subject matter, posting stuff that they've heard through other people, or that they've read elsewhere, kinda like what you just did. You don't actually KNOW that the flywheel is making noise, nor do you know what it sounds like when it is chattering, but because you read it somewhere, you've assumed that must be the problem. Although I appreciate your input, I would rather hear from others that have real fisrt hand experience with this type of thing.

And why do you assume I have never heard flywheel chatter in person? Keep in mind that Alex does alot of work on european vehicles and im often there.

I really hope this matter is done.

Yea, I bet you have all kinds of experience modding the 02M... oh wait, you have a stock car with coil-overs set so low, your car high centered on a speed bump. I bet it handles great like that.

I'm done arguing with you, since you seem to have read VW Vortex cover to cover, so you are now the ultimate authority in modding.
