      Re: VR6 vs. 1.8T

Vr6 should be more reliable(stock) and have one sweet ass exhaust note. 1.8T will be lighter, better on gas and should be quicker mod for mod(bolt-ons of course)

My 1.8t gti with just an ebc felt quite a bit quicker than a 24v gli jetta I test drove a few years back.
      2012 gti, 2012 mustang.

They are both very good options but if you're choosing between the two you have to figure out first what you like. After owing both I can no longer stand the sound/feel of the 1.8t. I have also owned the 2.0T and hands down my favorite is the VR6 just because of how it sounds and its so damn smooth.

There is no doubt that it costs more to mod the VR6 so that will also be a consideration. I would rather have a stock VR6 GTI & put the $$ into suspension & breaks than play with the 1.8t again.... thats just me though, maybe I'm getting old!
