  • Good 2.5" muffler to use for MKII custom exhaust

    Hi all,

I'm going to be plumbing a few MKII 2.5" exhausts and haven't been in the loop on good flowing mufflers that actually tuck well under a MKII.

    Ideas/opinions?

I'd also welcome the same input on MKIII GTIs as well. Yes, they will be lowered.

    Lemme know.

dynomax, magnaflow, borla. the TT system is really nice. it usually comes with those choices for the muffler. i have a supersprint on my mk2.
you probably don't like me because someone else said they didn't lol. <3

I have a magnaflow exhaust, it sounds nice and doesnt stick out like the stock muffler body does. Mind you I have an MK4 but same idea

What's the height like on the magnaflow? When you compare a MKIV muffler to a MKII, the MKIV is about 10" longer, and about 8" high, which is about 3" higher than the MKII and causes it to sit down around axle height, which I'm not too fond of.

I was looking at a flowmaster 44, with a centered inlet/outlet. This one was 4" high, which would accomodate my requirements, as well, it was only 10" wide, and 13" long.

Oh yeah. I'm not looking to break the bank either. I just need the muffler and possibly a resonator/mid pipe for sound dampening. I'll be fabbing the rest out of 2.5" mandrel bend steel tubing.

            what engine ?

single borla makes an 8v sound really good.

If its the TD in you sig. run straight pipes They sound bad ass on TD's
