Re: bumper chips
Mr Chippy Forge Rd In the SE will fill in all your chips and "returning it to look like new" so they say.. It'll run you about $200 for all chips on the hood and front bumper... If you decide to go that way post some before and after pics!drive green ||

Re: bumper chips
also interested in Mr. Chippy's work.
I haven't done my bumper yet, but I did my grille. Temperature has a big impact. If it's in the sun, the paint will not dry smooth. Cold isn't that great either. 15-20degrees, and out of the sun (and dust, and bugs...) is best. The duplicolor stuff Cdn Tire sells was a great match for me. Got a primer, a paint, and a clear, and just followed the directions with dry times and whatnot. Remember that car paint is about as viscous as water and runs like crazy if you hit a spot for too long. Don't move the can back and fourth while spraying, you will get uneven paint, or running at the spot you change directions. Spray past the edge of the bumper, then stop if you can. Lots of light coats.. don't try to cover the primer in one go... it will run for sure. My biggest problem was my impatience. Give yourself enough time!
I noticed that this paint will chip easier that the OEM stuff if its on the front end of the car, but i've seen that with professional jobs too.Last edited by stefan; 03-24-2008, 01:45 PM.Stefan

Re: bumper chips
u wrench it has a bay and all the tools u need to sand and paint ur car parts. I was gonna go this route of doing it myself but when i started calculating all the time that it would take to do it myself and what the cost would come out to(gotta pay by the hour for using equipment and bay) it came just a few hundred less then what i got quoted by a decent body shop here in calgaryOriginally posted by RedMileDon't bug the receiver though, he's far to busy to help you out.Originally posted by Smarty39haha, thanks man...I take it you're the receiver lol?
