So you used the Revo Software? What are you boosting at? Did you upgrade the injectors or FPR at all?

oh and When do I get a ride?

        Re: K04 time!

I have Revo stg2 and a 4bar fpr. Injectors and MAF are stock. In the higher gears under full load it will spike to about 24psi then hold at about 22psi. At 6000rpm I'm at about 15-16psi.

I test drove this with Mikey and he is correct the power is smoother and holds way longer than a K03s, it doesn't come on like the k03, however, but when it's there it doesn't stop. If you want reliabilty/daily driver it is a great upgrade. Mikey you owe me big!

Props to Richard for finishing the worst "bolt-on" kit in all history. Missing parts, grinding the manifold.....but it was a fun night...

Yeah I sure found it frustrating that the Kinetic turbo kit does no come with a gasket for the oil return, studs for the downpipe, downpipe gasket and you have to grind the flange to get it to physically fit onto the head. However now knowing what is needed to be done ... no problems.

After seeing that install it has me worried how my kit will turn out...when I decide what I am doing.

Revo does not make K04-001 specific software. They just recommend revo stg 2 which is what Mike already has. Revo has a specific file for the K04-020.

It's good to hear your happy with the K04-001 Mike. I hope my turbo blows soon so I can replace it with a K04-001

What did your overall cost in terms of cash and time come to?

                            Re: K04 time!

I haven't yet talked to kinetic to find out if my problem with the manifold was isolated or if this is something common. Its a really nice piece, and you can tell it is much less restrictive than the factory manifold, its just a shame we had to grind off part of the casting to make it fit. As Richard said, now that we know how to do it and what is required, we could probably do it in half the time. My total investment was about $1100 for the manifold, turbo and misc hardware. Now keep in mind, I work at the dealership, so I get dealer cost on my parts. Retail pricing it would be closer to about $1400 in parts.

I think it is a good kit but mising a few parts to make it really "bolt on". If you are thinking of buying one let me know and I will give you the list of parts that you will require that does not come with it (small list but annoying if you don't have them)

After washing the car today I went on a more extended test drive and I gotta say, there is definitely a lot of torque there! As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure I've found the limits of the stock clutch, because it definitely slips at full boost in 5th and 6th. Keep in mind though, this is on a car with 90000km thats been driven hard since about day 3 and chipped from about 7000km.
