I'm looking for the radio code for my sisters car, I thought all that was needed was the vin, is there anything else? If anyone has access to the info, it would be great! It's a 98 Jetta GT

There may also be a serial number on the radio.

You need the serial number off the radio as well. If you can get it, PM me the VIN and radio serial number and I will get you the radio code.

gotta question VW's efficiency when somewhere on the assembly line, a guy is writing serial numbers on radios with a ballpoint pen...

Although it says thats the SN, it is not. The SN will look kinda like the VIN of the vehicle and it usually starts with VW.

you might want to take a picture of your VIN off the internet. You'd be surprised what people can do with these things. And yes I know its visible on the car....but thats not the point
