Seriously tho with that kit you should really look into getting an LSD (Quaiffe, Peloquin). They are about 1500 US but that's where your weak spot will be with that much power running. Definately check it out cause you don't want to be replacing it AFTER it breaks.
I would love to have that kit tho, good choice!

I agree with Yuval,
I think the APR kit is so wicked, but a total waste of money. You'll never get your money back on it in the future, the install in expensive. As much as I love VW's I would just get a slighly used or new BMW.
I love my stock Audi, i'm tellin ya, so long as you get a bmw/audi with all the options and the sport package I promise you'll never want to mod it, you'll just enjoy the car for what it is. I enjoy my stock audi more than I ever enjoyed my modded jetta. Plus, the peace of mind a stock car comes with is amazing.

Yea, if you do something like APR's stage 3, you have to know that you are going to keep your car for a very long time. Otherwise it is a waste. Stock is ideal, and if money is no issue, buy an Audi or BMW.
For sheer speed though, unless your beemer is wearing the "M" badge, it won't even come close to a 3-350 hp jetta. Of course it's not cheap to mod a VW like that, but what does a new Audi S4 or BMW M3 cost? Somewhere around $80,000 I think. Oilchange for a new BMW, like ,$250. Etc,Etc.2012 gti, 2012 mustang.

I agree with volinder.. the only thing I would do on a B6 A4 is wheel swap to 18s and a body kit.. the suspension looks great from factory.. like 2 finger gap all around instead of 4x4.. plus they already have the HIDs,etc.. oh well I have fun building my car up to that level..

Ryan,
I agree, the fun is in building the car to that level. I haven't ruled out the idea of swapping wheels, it would look pretty nice. However, I'm currently in the process of building a brand new dental practice and that leaves me with pretty much no moula for any mods as of now. Maybe in the future.2004 Nissan Murano

driving a stock more expensive car is great for some, but taking a Jetta and making it diffrent, ex. low, fast etc. is also extremely fun.
so, i guess my point is that some people buy expensive cars and some mod for fun.
yep, there is no real money return from mods but it doesnt matter - have you looked at the resale of a new car:thumbsdwn

Also, you're kidding yourself if you think you can just plop an extra 200hp in a jetta and have it run properly. When adding that kind of power, you have to consider the peripheral expenses (differential, tranny, clutch, brakes, suspension, tires, motor mounts, engine internals). So maybe after spending $15000 - $20000 total or so, the jetta will be able to handle the new power without spontaneously combusting. (Although you'll still be plagued with torque steer from hell).
Now I'm all about modding cars. But sometimes you have to weigh the cost against the gain, and reconsider what would be a better platform to spend that kind of money on.Yuval

I have a hard time seeing how a 300-350 HP Jetta would keep up to a 333 HP M3. RWD will be much more effective than FWD for applying power to the road, not to mention the handling of the 50/50 M3 compared to the front heavy Jetta...
If the base vehicle was a 1.8T A4 quattro, then I could see the benefits... But then again, the S4 would most likely be a better starting place IMO...Vorsprung durch Technik
