  • Quick timing belt question.

I may be picking up a GTI that has 92k on it. Its a 1.8t 2002. When does the timing belt need to be done on these?

Well its already a great price. He needs nothing and he is the second owner. So it is the original timing belt. Just curious around what km they need doing.

          100,000km

Tune dub said a golf (2L) would be 700$. I got a quote done for my car because its getting close to time to get it done.

km limit doesn't matter. it's older then 4 years.

I just did my TB today. Took a few hours. Did the clutch fan delete while I was at it for an additional 2.5 chp

jordan you did it yourself? how hard was it? i'd just be afraid i'd screw something up doing it.. i want to do timing belt, snub, ics, coolant flush, seals, umm whatever i can think of while i can get to it

Yeah I did it myself. It's not hard if you're familiar with TB procedures. It is a fairly in depth DIY, and one you definitely don't want to screw up! I would give it a 7/10 on the difficulty scale.

Yeah you could do all that stuff in an afternoon.
