  • AN OBD2 question

    Hi there I have a 2003 Jetta GLI VR6 and i had my check engine light come on yesterday. I scanned the car today and came out will code P0411 "secondary air injection system malfunction" any ideas what this means??? Thanks!!

    yeah your secondary air injection is fucked. this is common error on the VR6. I have a spare pump for sale. A new one from the dealer is like $600.

      Are MK3 and MK4 pumps the same though?

        good question i have a mk3 VR6 can i take the pump from that one, and should I be driving??

          Before you blow cash on a secondary air pump that may not be faulty read this.
          You may just have a combi valve fooked or as simple as a broken vacuum line..

              considering your from yellowknife your pump filled with water and froze.
              check your solenoid.
              about a gallon of water per hour.
              possible fuse as well.

                all the SAI does is blow the rich gas out quicker at start up. It turns off after about 2 minutes and the car warms up. Its not a big deal. I drove around for a year with it fucked and rob is still driving around with his.

                Im just deleting mine altogether on my VRT with a frost plug and software that is updated to not even care about it

                  thanks for all the good info guys, guess i will live with a stupid orange light till the spring when i go back to edmonton for waranty service
