  • Stupid question

In a MKIV, I currently have the single din cassette player and the single din cd player. Is it a plug and play change out for a double din monsoon? I know it'll fit in the slot... But something tells me there is more to it than that.

        Re: Stupid question

there is an adaptor you can buy and plug into it when you go from a monsoon to a single din normal stereo.

going from a stock one to monsoon you would need the internal amp. just go aftermarket and save yourself the headache

Monsoon uses an exteral amp. The antenna connectors are also different for single and double dins. Also some double dins use the can bus to control turn on and ilumination.

            Re: Stupid question

I tried it and it wasnt worth the effort.

You will have to buy a bunch of adapters and in the end it still wont dim with the rest of the dash.
